Liebe Erstsemestrige,
Wie jedes Jahr bieten wir auch dieses Wintersemester ein Erstsemestrigentutorium an. Ziel dieser Aktivität ist es, euch den Einstieg in euer (erstes) Studium zu erleichtern und ein Kennenlernen untereinander zu ermöglichen. Wir wollen euch hierbei nicht nur mit Information vollstopfen (dafür gibt es unsere Beratungstermine während des Semesters), sondern euch eine Möglichkeit bieten, in unkomplizierter Weise eure Erwartungen an das Studium kenenzulernen und euch gegebenenfalls unter die Arme greifen zu können.
Zu diesem Zweck wollen wir euch zwei alternative Termine in der zweiten Oktoberwoche anbieten (Donnerstag 11.10. ab 17:00 Uhr und Freitag 12.10. ab 16:30). Treffpunkt für beide Termine ist die Schildburg –unser Kammerl – direkt neben dem Hörsaal 24, Stiege 5, Hof 5. Anschließend werden wir
euch die unserer Meinung nach wichtigsten Orte für Studierende der VWL zeigen, sowie versuchen, auf allgemeinere Anliegen einzugehen. Weiters wollen wir den Abend mit einem gemeinsamen Stammtisch ausklingen lassen.
Es wird ausdrücklich empfohlen, am Erstemestrigentutorium teilzunehmen, da wir eventuell viele Fragen und Unsicherheiten aus dem Weg räumen können – schließlich sind wir auch eure Vertretung. 😉

Dear first semester students,
As in every semester we, the student representatives of economics, are offering a freshers’ tutorial. The aim of this tutorial is to help you get started with your (first) course, and to allow for you to meet other freshers that are starting this semester. We need to emphasize that the tutorial will not aim to supply you with in depth course information (this is readily available to you during our weekly counseling hours), but rather to hear your concerns and provide you with helpful advice and tools that could alleviate these.
There are two dates for the tutorial sessions that you can choose to attend – one session will take place at 5.00pm on Thursday 11.Oct. and 4.30pm on Friday 12.Oct. On both dates we will congregate in front of our office (the infamous “Schildburg”), which is located next to lecture hall 24, by staircase 5 in the main building of the university. We will start the tutorial with a quick tour through and around the university, showing you the areas we deem most important for economics students. To wrap up the tutorial and any loose ends we cordially xinvite you to join us for drinks at one of our
favourite pubs (to be announced)
We cannot stress enough how incredibly useful it is to attend this tutorial. You will save a lot of time and energy and sidestep a lot of problems that might surface in the course of the next months.
